Aaron Rocks

A group of fourth-graders at Moore Elementary
organized a Save Japan collection of funds to
help support the Red Cross’ efforts in Japan.
After reading about the struggles of the Japanese
people and viewing some of the images after the
recent earthquakes and tsunami, fourth-grader
Krystalyn Garcia decided to do something about
it. She asked a couple of friends at school to help
her, asked for permission at school, and began
making signs and collecting money. In all, $416
was collected, and all funds will go to the Red
Cross. Pictured are, left to right, (front row) Andy

Look for her @ the 1:40 to 2 minute mark

Freshman Amanda Nguyen opened the scoring in the third after leading off with a single. She stole second base, moved to third on a fielder's choice and crossed on Reynolds groundout to the pitcher. Nguyen, who was 2-for-4, smacked a two-run triple to right center field in the fourth inning to drive in Pypes and Reanna Johnson, who singled. Rachael Duval, who led off the inning with a single and moved into scoring position on a hit to the gap in left field by Pypes, scored the first run on Johnson's single up the middle as Army collected four of its 10 hits in that frame off  Bridget Gates (6-17).
